Behavior Consultations

Behavior consults are for those who are struggling with an unwanted or challenging behavior. This can be anything from aggression to trouble catching your horse in the field or haltering, trailer loading, etc.

Before the consultation, you’ll be sent a form to fill out with questions about the horses lifestyle, management, and history.

During the consultation, Alyssa will observe the unwanted behavior (if safe to do so) and talk to you more about the management, training, possible reasons for the behavior and what can be done to address it.

From here, you’re free to take this information and continue working with your horse yourself, or you can continue to work with Alyssa who will help you come up with a more in-depth behavior modification plan using science and reward based methods.

Our goal is to teach and empower horse owners to work with their own horses to form a deeper connection, instead of hiring a trainer to do it.

If there is a reason you can’t or don’t want to work with your horse yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out! Training sessions will be considered on a case by case basis.

Virtual Consultations

Virtual consultations are for those who are outside of our travel range, have a busy schedule, or would just prefer to work with a professional virtually instead of in person.

Similar to in person consults, you’ll be sent a form to fill out with questions about the horses lifestyle, management, and history.

You’ll be asked to submit a video of the unwanted behavior, if it’s safe to do so, or a video leading up to the behavior.

In more severe cases, Alyssa may refer you to a local behavior consultant or trainer to assist you in person.

Initial consults will include a typed up review of the video and what Alyssa is observing as well as her thoughts on what could be causing the behavior and things that could be addressed to change it.

The option to continue working with Alyssa and coming up with a more in-depth Behavior Modification Plan is available.

Beginner R+ Lessons

Beginner Positive Reinforcement lessons are for anyone who is just starting out or are interested in learning about R+ and Clicker Training.

Alyssa will travel to you to work with you and your horse to teach you the basics of clicker training and how you can begin to incorporate it into what you’re already doing with your horse, using it to teach new behaviors or retrain old ones!

Clicker training is a great tool for every equestrian to have in their belt, whether you want to use it to teach tricks, train new behaviors, or help your horse overcome their fear and create a positive association with something.

If you don’t have your own horse to work with, Alyssa has limited availability to take lessons with her own horses which are located in Krakow, WI.
